After gaining experience from some of the nation’s top athletic performance specialists, James Meder arrived in Miami with his sights set on creating an elite and athlete-centered training facility; one that would provide the most comprehensive approach to the totality of an athlete’s development. With this mission, James founded Fast Twitch in a 3,600 square foot warehouse in 2010. Knowing that he would need someone with as much expertise and passion to help run the company, his next step was contacting lifelong friend Irik Johnson. Irik was finishing up his master’s degree work in human performance while coaching college football. The opportunity to develop their dream in a region known for producing the greatest athletes brought Irik to South Florida.
As the company developed, James and Irik witnessed the impact of the Fast Twitch methodology in athlete development and began expanding their team. Sports Therapist Andreas Olesen joined FT and assisted in the process of building an elite comprehensive performance staff. Their credible reputation in the athletic community led to a huge growth in their client base, and the opening of a 15,000 square foot facility, making it the largest of its kind in South Florida.
Fast Twitch's commitment to athlete development has been further legitimized by their client's success, media attention, and partnerships with some of the most nationally recognized brands. This year, Fast Twitch has joined forces with Under Armour, Muscle Milk, and Gatorade; these performance powerhouses recognize Fast Twitch’s unparalleled knowledge, skill, and vision . All Performance Training sessions start with an FT Evaluation. This objective and subjective test allows performance specialists to design programs customized for each athlete.
The Fast Twitch facility was designed to allow for multiple elements of training in each session. Resistance Training, Functional Strength, Speed and Agility, Plyometrics, and Core Strength are some of the main elements emphasized during each session.

Sports Therapy is designed to bridge the gap between physical therapy and competitive performance. Each treatment plan is unique based on the athlete's injury, whether traumatic, acute, or chronic, and his/her performance goals.
Mental Conditioning strengthens the mind and targets performance tipping points including focus and awareness. This approach is designed to enhance components including confidence, mental toughness, and performance under pressure.
Nutrition and supplementation strategies to improve sport performance, mental acuity, and body composition.
Sports Yoga is an upper and lower body compliment to Performance Training. Clients fluidly transition through movements to increase flexibility, improve joint integrity, and enhance body control.
Stretch therapy ensures that clients have adequate flexibility throughout the necessary ranges of motion to improve performance and decrease injury.
Sports Massage is designed to release tension, increase circulation, and aid in the release of metabolic waste.
